The European map is mainly based on the radon limit differences. In many countries there are no upper limits at all, while some countries have an upper limit set to 400 Bq /m3 and 200 Bq /m3, for indoor air in homes. In most countries, legislation regarding upper levels are only advisory (recommended) and not compulsory. [1] |

In the U.S. there is a federal recommended radon limit of 150 Bq/m3 (4 pCi/L) for indoor air in homes. The map shows details regarding developments towards increased radon proficiency and mitigation supporting legislation. [2] |
